It is the question we get asked most on the phone. You look at the catalogue, you see ECODRY80 and DRY80, you check that they have the same thickness, the same roll dimensions and exactly the same price, and you are none the wiser.
The short answer
In performance they are equivalent. Same thickness, same grammage, same dimensions, same 10-year warranty and the same CE marking under standard EN 13956. Neither of the two waterproofs better than the other.
The real difference
It lies in the material and in what you can justify with it.
ECODRY is manufactured with CPE from the circular economy — recovered and transformed raw material — and has a registered environmental product declaration (EPD) in accordance with standard EN 15804.
DRY is manufactured in EVAC. It has no EPD, but the 0.8 and 0.5 mm versions are explicitly hot-air weldable, something some installers prefer for finishing off the joints.
So which one do I choose?
- Public works, environmental certification or a specification with sustainability criteria → ECODRY. The EPD is a document you can submit.
- Your installer works with hot-air welding → DRY.
- An ordinary domestic renovation → either of the two. Choose on availability; the result will be the same.

What really does change: the thickness
The important decision is not ECODRY versus DRY, but which thickness you need:
- 0.52 mm (ECODRY50 / DRY50) — bathrooms, showers and interior wet areas.
- 0.8 mm (ECODRY80 / DRY80) — domestic terraces and roofs.
- 1.25 mm (ECODRY120 / DRY120) — large surfaces, heavy use, swimming pools and substrates with cracks. Crack bridging up to 3.6 mm.
